This restaurant by Chef-Owner Malcolm Lee and the COMO Group is located within The Orangery at the Gallop Extension of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. Named after the pangium tree that springs from the buah keluak seed, an ingredient central to Singapore’s culinary identity. The design of the interior draws upon the geometry of textiles and patterns from Nonya (Straits Chinese) material culture, and batik dye printing. The ceiling is constructed as a massive, but light, translucent form that resembles a lantern or a kite. The palette balances natural tones and ceramics with primary geometries in paint and gold leaf.
